In several hours I will be on a plane to vancouver...I have soo many butterflies!!! I think I have everything packed, though I am prone to forgetfulness, so I am sure I am missing something, but all I really care about right now is giving some giant hugs to my host fam. when I get there:

Anyhoo...meanwhile, I thought might do some tippity-typetty.
This past weekend, I had the pleasure of going to lindsay to visit Kyle's family, which was fantastic mini breack. On this trip, i got to see a little more of the country side that surrounds Lindsay, and it was soo beautiful, lots of rivers, and fields, and muddy banks.
Another bonus, was that my sister was in town checking out fleming college and I got to attend to the open house with her. The college campus, was just awesome, with working wind power, a large beautiful greenhouse, a kick ass geology department, and a crazy fish and wildlife department!
I snapped some photo's of our campus tour, but BE WARNED there are photo's of dead fish and wildlife, which may be disturbing for some:

here is my sister, she is a geomatics rock-star!

this is the amazing green-house, that was chalked full of greenery, and equipment to recycle to college waste and what not. This school scores high on environmental sustainability!

Ok, so here we are in the Fish and Wildlife area, above is a stuffed bird. All the programs at the college use a very hands on approach, in this department there was lots of different specimens of species, that were either found or donated to the college (already dead I believe), used in identification studies and for other research projects.

here is a jarred sample of bass.

ok...so yes this is bear! The bear carcus was donated to the college, after it was found already dead in the woods. It took me some time to be able to get close enough to it to snap a shot, since i am a tiny bit chicken when it comes to this stuff.

this is a close up of the tag on the bears foot.
Ok, well i think i need to do another last minute check of my baggage.
Hip Hip Horray for vacation!
(see you soon meena)
