i spent this weekend deep in pages...

kyle and i found a box of books lying on the curb. most of the books were soaked through and ruined, but there was on science text book from 1974, that was still in tact. we took it home and i went to town on the muddy pages.

Day 67

Wow, so it has been crazy around rhya town these days. my good friend ariel was in town for a visit and i was swept away into a friendship spaceship. A good place to be.

The weather has been stunning and my garden is a hilarious disaster. Major slug war in progress. Anyhoo, i am sticking to my ds project...so far up to 71 days!! very cool. Admittedly I did take a couple of nights off, but i am back at it. Also i can't wait to hit up my journal again...it's been too long.

Day 50

I can't believe that over 50 days have come and gone since i started! wow! This last week was banana's so much work right now, it's good...but i am looking forward to a weekend of plants, cats and hopefully board games. I am currently listening to Olivia Newton John, nothing like a little 'twist of fate' to turn up the evening.

Day 48

i love all the tiny blue wildflowers i am seeing right now, springing up between cracks in the concrete. surviving the 80/mph winds this weekend and just generally being beautiful.

and tunnel into the ground under the pillows

storing the savory under my tongue till morning.

after over a year of really getting back into my sketch book or as one of my fav teacher's from university days used to call it 'my book of ideas', i am feeling really great. there is something so awesome about having a place to just go a little crazy in. it has also been interesting to look back through these journals to see how things have evolved from day one and contemplate my future directions. One thing that i found lacking and would like to include more of are concrete 'events' or snippets from my actual day to day life. As someone who kept a diary from an early age, I think it would be nice to mix in a bit of a 'diary' feel into some of my journal work from here on in. Certainly not every single page, but I love the idea of certain pages containing clues to a moment or a feeling or a something that happened...kind of like tags to trigger a snapshot of something you might not have room to remember, but can live comfortably between some old worn out journal pages.

i wish to plant a rose bush, like the ones we had growing up. i know they are not everyones favorite, but i do love their classic beauty.
