it is the spring one of a kind show again, so i am pretty tied up with monsters and missing my happy place (my studio). enjoying the beautiful weather right now and all my early morning and late evening bikes to and fro. spring makes me very happy.

284 days...

recently i have noticed a handful of people in my life doing 365 day projects, where one takes a photo or does a drawing each day for a year. I think this is such a cool way to document a year, in fact i like the idea so much i have decided to challenge myself to my own challenge which will combine two of my favourite things: the Nintendo DS and drawing. A few years ago kye introduced me to a DS drawing platform called Colors. It is super simple and allows you to make tiny little drawings on your DS, a perfect interlude between a game of mario or donkey kong. I have always wanted to experiment in this program more so here it goes: my challenge is to do a daily drawing using the Colors program on my Nintendo DS. Woot woot! (i realize i am a little late in the game, so i will do my best to occasionally double up on a drawing here or there.)

today i was feeling just like the grey sky, all washed out and misty. so tonight i reminded myself of some of the awesome things that make me feel not so blueish.

Sunday Quiet.

my cat being quiet and dreaming of all his cat friends.

this was me today on the bruce trail, trying to be light on my feet, while i was slipping and sliding down the escarpment. it was quiet out in the woods. i am recharged and ready to take on the city again. a little country goes a long way.

fresh start.

so this is the beginning of a new journal, number three since I started journalling again last february. i am having trouble adjusting to the new pages...they feel like strangers. i guess you could say we are in the 'getting to know you stage'.

Actually, i have started two new journals, the second one being quite a bit smaller than the first...it's always a good challenge to play with your surface area and it is a little more portable for when i am trying my hand at traveling light.

now i need some recommendations! the other night i started typing words on to these scraps of colored paper and then made myself do a quite sketch of whatever to accompany the word. The example above is a not the best, as it was a test, and the other three i made got mailed off to a friend. The more appropriate word to this image would have been 'blush'.

so i was hoping for some 'word' suggestions to sketch. gimme gimme some inspiration please!
