Sunday Quiet.

my cat being quiet and dreaming of all his cat friends.

this was me today on the bruce trail, trying to be light on my feet, while i was slipping and sliding down the escarpment. it was quiet out in the woods. i am recharged and ready to take on the city again. a little country goes a long way.

fresh start.

so this is the beginning of a new journal, number three since I started journalling again last february. i am having trouble adjusting to the new pages...they feel like strangers. i guess you could say we are in the 'getting to know you stage'.

Actually, i have started two new journals, the second one being quite a bit smaller than the first...it's always a good challenge to play with your surface area and it is a little more portable for when i am trying my hand at traveling light.

now i need some recommendations! the other night i started typing words on to these scraps of colored paper and then made myself do a quite sketch of whatever to accompany the word. The example above is a not the best, as it was a test, and the other three i made got mailed off to a friend. The more appropriate word to this image would have been 'blush'.

so i was hoping for some 'word' suggestions to sketch. gimme gimme some inspiration please!

Pattern Hunting.

I took my camera out last weekend and went on a hunt for some inspirations.

here is what i found. i especially love the giant cement blocks becoming a strange parade of bear like creatures.

just playing around with fine lines. these are the few stragglers that i haven't posted from my last journal. mostly just test pages. doodles...probably one of my favourite pass times. i love doodles, lots of my ideas spring from this habit. it's snowing outside right now. i thought for a second we might have escaped winter...

I am clearly ready for spring. I can't wait to bike again. I am not brave enough to bike in the winter. I tried, but after sliding through a stop sign last year, i decided it wasn't for me. This is another random pen sketch. Working on ideas for patterns...my fav.

sometimes i wish that i could dress up like a rock and sit by the ocean with a whole bunch of other rocks. in the scenario above, i also hope that i will be some kind polka-dotted rock.

i got a valentine in the mail.

oh tangles, comb your hair already.

i will make some swatches of my fabric ideas this year. i will! and then maybe i may even make a dress from them.
