Weekend Project.
On the weekend, i dedicated some time to making a short little film for a project my good friend Ariel and I started around a year ago. Essentially it is about creating characters and communicating as another. It is really awesome and I wish I had more time to put towards it. Making this little movie made me very happy!

Monday and Mariah.

tonight is a good night. there was dancing, burritos and a good serving of Mariah Carey ballads and pop songs.
there is fog on the road. thick and full, it covers my face, i imagine this is what it feels like to choke on clouds. i lick my lips, it isn't salty, just fresh and cool.
my plants are watered and ready to sleep.
One bread fruit + One money tree = The closest forest I can hide in.
I don't like my basement bathroom.
there are spiders that have strange knee joints.
it is a jungle of legs down there.

The centre of January.
spring is a memory. dusty and faded.
piles of birthday cards fade in a box on the living shelf. i should throw them out...but i can't let go of the kittens and bears and the piles of fallen sparkles. dried celebrations like snow banks on the side of the road.

New Year

Did I make resolutions...a few maybe. They are a tangle in my brain. One for sure is to keep up with the blog because I have enjoyed a year here with sketching and collaging. These quiet nights with green plants brushing my computer screen, my desk scattered with glue and paper bits, they are a welcome pocket of escape.

I guess I still have a crush on you.

Walking home last night the air sparkled. Razor sharp flakes of snow cutting tiny holes on the horizon. If I blur my eyes they form a hole to climb through. It is a wonderful walk.

It is a mess in my bedroom.
There is a sock castle in the corner,
and a mountain of sweaters on the dresser.
I wade through a pool of towels and climb into bed.
It seems I am building a vacation out of laundry.

Blue Day

shades of blue.
Night pages.

I am always up for one of these!
Hollyhocks are one of my favourite flowers. I love their height and robustness. A good solid hearty flower. They remind me of small towns in ontario in the summer...of those nights that you would walk home from the ball diamond, fingers greasy from french fries, and the sound of stones under your runners.
