Studio Tour

chaos!
click on image for a closer view of chaos.
this is what i hope it will look like one day!

so i said i wouldn't let them get me, but already a few weeks into january, the winter blahhs have set in. where is the sun i ask? where did motivation sneak off too? why do i want to nap twenty four seven? It is also officially to cold to go running, and there is also to much snow...so even if i bundle up to the nth degree, i run the risk of tripping and twisting an ankle. So to combat my itching need to move, i am off to the local pool. mmm...swimming.

ok...enough grumbles.

on the up side, i need to stop and rock to Le Tigre.
umm...so good! I can't believe it has taken me this long to finally discover this gem of a group...they have been my city soundtrack for the last while.
TKO!

also mustn't forget The Streets, boy oh boy, i la la la love this album.

And finally Sunday night, after a delicious dinner with three sweet chaps who are all close to my heart (the booh, nick and rue), we treked out through the cold and storm to the pheonix night club to see Neko Case, with the Sadies play live.
ok, Neko Case is amazing, simply amazing, the show was outstanding. She was a crooning flame in the middle of our freeze. The Sadies have also gained a new fan!

music good for the world.

Now for some beautiful words and simply stunning photos on the theme of 'home', please please check out the second installment of Koi, the beautiful online mag created and run by the superfantastico heather!

ahh, and now i am to sleep.

chirps and snorts from the monsters under my eyes.

A Month of Softies

so I gathered up my winter woven soul last night, which was still a little achy from a fever and flu thing I caught last week, got my act in gear, and made some time to take part in A Month Of Softies, Claire’s fantastic brain child.

This months theme is Vintage Kitty. So I set to work stitching up my interpretation of a vintage kitty. My thinking was to make, my kitty in the likeness of an old kitty I knew, who went a little blind and hairless in her later “vintage” years. What I ended up creating was some strange type of rodent, squirrel or mouse fusion of a softie, who I have named Bill. Well you win some and lose some.

month of softies, vintage kitty, that turned out much more like a vintage rodent, type squirrel or some sort or large mouse with tail...yikes!

close up details of pink claws.

close up detail of heart stitched tail!

this so totally does not look like a cat...giggles.
