Friends from Far Far Away!

So a sweet sweet rosa and i did a doll/monster exchange, and yesterday my Ester (that is what i named her) came all wrapped up with the added surprise of this antique ribbon with my initials...my mail was simply stunning. Esther came all the way from Portugal, and she is a silken beauty full of hand stitched detail and wonders. Tonight i took her outside to meet some of the neighbourhood monsters, and just as I suspected she made fast friends:

ahh yes big blue, he was the first to greet esther.


big blue is one of my first experiments with the cotton lycra.
I am not getting the greatest response from people in regards to this fabric, but i really love the colours and stretchyness. The booh says he misses the fuzzy fleece. I think i am going to try big blue again in flannel.


big blue is also the first of a series i am designing where the creatures will have different illustrations on their behinds.

secondly ester met a little rascal named jube.


jube has pants and he is really cheeky.


ohh koshi the cat...loves the camera and eating monsters.


Distant relatives?


seriously though, barrie totally has a huge crush on esther.
He has already come over twice to borrow flour and eggs...and we all know that barrie does NOT bake.


the only one who was to shy to come out of the garden was bonnie.
bonnie is unfinished and she felt self concious about her body.


bonnie was crying!


thank goodness for big blue!


he went in and told bonnie how nice esther was and that everyone loved bonnie just the way she was!


bonnie came out, and we had a darn good evening chuckling and welcoming esther to the neighbourhood.
